WE WANT BASS PRESENTS: SHY FX

Main Room
SHY FX (Digital Soundboy)
KEAR (Bang Bang // Decibel)
MORE TBC.

The Box
MR. NOISY v.s. BITR8

Welcome to WE WANT BASS, this is your monthly DnB night powered by Bang Bang. Junk is renouned for it's monsterous soundsystem and what better format to show this through than some massive Drum and Bass! Expect the world's finest DnB acts including ANDY C, DJ HYPE, SHY FX, RONI SIZE, DJ MARKY, TC and MANY MORE!

As opposed to the usual format where we've played a bit of everything in keeping with the Bang Bang ethic we shall be going all out DnB with a cheeky bit of Dub Step thrown in for good measure.

Shy FX is the champion. Born in London, Andre Williams debuted on S.O.U.R. Records (Sound Of The Underground) in 1994. One of the pioneers of Jungle, Shy truly made his name with the anthem "Original Nuttah" with the track reaching the UK charts and quickly became one of Jungle's most respected producers. Shy soon after started his own Ebony label soon after, releasing more classic Jungle tunes like "The Message", "Bambaata" and "Wolf".

The quick success did little to endear Shy FX with the jungle underground, and his later pronouncements that he was the king of jungle didn't help either. Shy FX released just one more single for S.O.U.R., then virtually disappeared for several years after a major-label deal fell through. He finally emerged at the helm of his own label, Ebony, and with a growing list of tight singles like "The Message" and "Bambaataa," kinetic jump-up fusions of ragga attitude and old-school hip-hop themes. Shy FX also set up another label, Ivory, to release steady rollers by the likes of the 45 Roller -- almost undoubtedly Shy himself despite protests to the contrary.

He is also a long-term collaborater with T-Power, their work "Shake Ur Body" reaching number 1 in 2001. It was followed by an album on FFRR "Set It Off" the following year. Shy has since set up his new Digital Soundboy venture in 2005, releasing so far a superb Shy FX and T Power album "Diary Of A Digital Soundboy", as well a providing a choice platform for promising young drum and bass artists. Shy has also remixed and produced for a whole range of current artists such as Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal. A solo artist LP is in the pipeline.

Also check out up and coming ...

Caspa & Rusko definitely recognise a crossover between the dub reggae, garage and drum'n'bass scenes and pull the best elements from each to make the sounds and sets they do, injecting this breath of fresh air into their performances.

With a FabricLive CD under their belt that was described as an almost perfect blend of dark narcotic melancholy and up front torrential dancefloor delight, all wrapped in cavity filling ridiculous low-end bass destruction and delay. Caspa & Rusko as a DJ duo and as individual DJs are considered part of a new breed of dubstep talent, sweeping the deep furrows of ground laid bare by peers like Digital Mystikz, Kode9 and Benga, mixed with their own jump up comical party fresh and somewhat relentless sound.

So its no surprise that Bang Bang has scooped up the opportunity to put this fantastic DJ pairing in our booth and behind the decks, expect a heavy dose of driving basslines coupled with the blend of dub, reggae and drum ‘n’ bass that can only be identified as the sound of Caspa & Rusko. Now as we prepare the club for its impending dancefloor punishment get ready to tremble at the power of Caspa & Rusko.
