Caspa Wax

I pulled my hood closer to my face to shield myself from the onslaught of Sunday night rain, which had drained the streets of any signs of human activity. My feet slowly but surely became drenched and I was sure that the club would be empty; it was a wet and windy Sunday night. Surely everyone’s cosy inside warm houses preparing for Monday morning. Wrong! Everyone’s here, literally everyone has flocked to Rhino to catch Caspa!

I hadn’t seen Rhino that packed since way before the summer and I certainly hadn’t seen a happier crowd for even longer. The Underground Music lads were making sure every-bodies night started off the right way, by offering free shots to anyone that joined the Underground Music group on Facebook.

It’s clear from the sheer numbers that turned up, Caspa needs no introduction, this Dubstep superstar attracted more ravers than any other DJ so far this year. A moody sub bass, echoed the weather as the dark din lurked around the entire room, but with Caspa’s selection of tunes the vibes were anything but moody. Shuffling rhythms and intoxicating beats like the new remix of ‘Mr Chips’ dominated the night and kept the club dancing form dusk till dawn.

Caspa and Rod Azlan had the crowd wrapped around their little fingers and under their thumbs. With a set that included the likes of ‘Jahova’ and ‘2 N A Q’, when Rod Azlan asked the elated cowed “Do you love bass?” of course the retaliation was hundreds of cries “Yeah…!” I don’t think I’ve heard a rave crowd actually cheer at the drop of a song, but it happened three times that night. ‘Cockney Thug’, the Dubstep remix of ‘I Remember’ and Scream’s monster mix of ‘In for the Kill’ had the crowed screaming and shouting in gratitude. Caspa was clearly enjoying the night as much as the crowd, at one point he nicked the mic from Rod Azlan to say; “Thanks for coming raving on a Sunday night…!”
